April
At Easter time in Greece, we prepare spit-roast
lamb, dye eggs red and enjoy hours of traditional
dancing into the night. Explore small local villages
near the city to discover authentic local
celebrations of Easter.
May
At this time of year discover the orgy of blossoming
plants, herbs and flowers, especially in the
beautiful mountains of Chania (Lefka Ori, Samaria)
or by hiking the Samaria Gorge. Be sure to look for
Diktamo, a famous medicinal herb that only grows in
the mountains of Crete.
June
Enjoy the blue skies, blossoming flowers and
fantastic beaches! Crete's Botanical Park, which
boasts tropical, fruit-bearing trees and citrus trees as
well as herbs and a vineyard, also lets you
experience traditional cooking methods such as open
fireplaces.
July August
Discover the best beaches on the island. In August
many villages hold local festivals, or
panigiri,
with traditional dancing, singing and cuisine.
Experience genuine Greek entertainment until the sun
comes up.
September
Discover ancient monasteries in the Akrotiri region.
Be sure to visit the famous Agia Triada, where you can
visit the monks and purchase their wines.

October
Villagers are busy distilling Raki, or Tsikoudia, a
strong spirit produced from the grapes pressed for
making wine. Watch and enjoy the fascinating
production process as much as the locals do. If ever
offered Raki by a Cretan, drink up or you will be
considered ungrateful!
November
Locals begin the olive harvest, plucking them from
the trees and crushing them in special presses to
produce Crete's famous olive oil.
December
Divine Villas beautifully decorates your villa for
the Christmas holiday.
Christmas hymns and songs fill the churches and the
whole town is alive with the Christmas spirit.
January - February - March
Pleasant temperatures of 15-20 degrees make this the
perfect time of year to visit our castles, museums
